Ways to prevent ingrown hairs on bikini line

Razor bumps are not only unsightly but can get infected and cause pain and skin problems. Since the skin is so sensitive, ingrown hairs on the bikini line can become particularly problematic. Ingrown hair for women can freak you out but there are ways to reduce chances of developing ingrown hairs while still maintaining smooth skin. You can try the following methods while shaving the next time to prevent ingrown hairs:
  • Using a wet washcloth, wash the area to be shaved for a few minutes with a mild soap and warm water.
  • Rub the washcloth in circular motions to remove sharp tips of hair
  • Apply shaving cream and lather
  • Shave in the direction of hair growth and avoid pressing down on the blade with too much pressure
Treating razor bumps:
  • Let hair grow before shaving again: Shaving over razor bumps will only aggravate the situation and irritate and tear them open, thus leaving them vulnerable to infection. Letting hair grow for a few days and allow it to break out of bumps on its own.
  • Avoid scratching the affected area: although it might itch, but breaking the bumps with fingernails can only lead to infection and scarring. Resist scratching the area as much as possible.
  • Use aloe vera lotion to repair skin: if you suspect infected ingrown hairs, then you can try using antibacterial cream on them every day. You can use aloe vera to treat the infection.
  • Use product which can treat ingrown hair: After depilation gel such as CC After Depilation Gel Bikini can help maintain an ingrown hair-free bikini line by hydrating sensitive skin and soothing the soreness and itching caused by razors. The solution also intends to hydrate sensitive skin of bikini line and provides a mild disinfectant effect which helps combat itching and irritation. This is dealt with by dissolving the protein structure in hair thereby reducing the chances of ingrown hair.
